SAFA! added to beneficiaries list for "The Music of David Bowie" Memorial Tribute Benefit

We are excited to announce that as part of our first wave of fundraising, we have added to the beneficiaries list for this year's "The Music Of..." music education benefit concert at Carnegie Hall. This wouldn't have been possible without the amazing generosity and support of concert organizer Michael Dorf (The Knitting Factory, City Winery).

This year's "The Music Of..." concert has transformed into a two-day memorial tribute to David Bowie, who tragically passed away from cancer this past month. As a lifelong Bowie fan, I am absolutely humbled to take part in such an amazing concert series, honoring a true pioneer of experimentation in music and sound, all for a good cause. To quote the concert website:

“THE UNEXPECTED DEATH OF DAVID BOWIE HAS TURNED THIS TRIBUTE, WHICH WE HAVE WORKED ON FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS, INTO A MEMORIAL CONCERT. WHILE THE SERIES HAS FEATURED SURPRISE APPEARANCES AND PERFORMANCES OF HONOREES SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST, THIS YEAR’S CONCERT WILL CERTAINLY BE REMEMBERED AS A POIGNANT CELEBRATION OF HIS MUSIC BY HIS FRIENDS, PEERS, AND FANS. WE ARE ALL DEEPLY SADDENED BY THIS NEWS. THE TIMING OF OUR PUBLIC ON-SALE DATE IS BIZARRE IN ITS TIMING AND THE SHOW IS TAKING ON MANY MORE EMOTIONS. RIP DAVID AND MAY GOD’S LOVE BE WITH YOU..”

We are truly blessed to be a part of such an important concert. For more information, please check out the Music of David Bowie memorial concert series page

More news to come, thanks for all of your support!
